Race Report - 12 Hours Putrajaya Walk + Broga Hill


Broga Hill
08 and 09 Dec 2012 adalah hari yg cukup penuh untuk aku. Seawal pagi 08 Dec lagi aku dah terpacak kat kaki Bukit Broga. Actually event ni xda dalam list aku. Disebabkan nak kasi semangat pada kawan2 opis aku yg terlibat dgn program pengurusan badan so aku pon agree tuk guide they all naik Broga. Seriusly it a bit risky untuk event aku pada malamnya and it does.
1Malaysia..
Mcm biasa, Broga mmg ramai giler. Pagi tu Alam, Wong, Kamar and Shahrul muncul for this event. Shahrul sampai lewat which masa kami dah sampai ke peak ke-4. Kmi manage to get to 1st peak in 30 minit. Reasonable timing dgn condition fitness masing2. Sempat la dpa layan sunrise. Then we make a move to peak 2, 3 and 4th. Kmi duk lama kat peak 4 tu lpskan lelah.

We make a move down an hour lepas tu sbb cuaca dah mula panas. Secara keseluruhan they made it again. Ni saja aku bilas tuk dpa dari last week trip which alam kantoi sampai ke peak Mt Datuk. Minggu ni ada posibility dpa kayuh kat Bukit Cerakah. Yg ni rasa aku xdpt join kot sbb aku kne buat long LSD.

Balik rumah aku terus rehat. Secara kasar aku xdpt nak tido sampai la ke petang. Aku dah boleh agak, sure event mlm ni aku kaput punya. Aku turun Poj at 5pm and pacak khemah awal2. This event Team PACat plan to have a big camp which we did have makan2 and support team.

 So dkt camp kami ada Zinov, En Zul, Aku, Suzie, Farah, anak2 en Zul dan anak2 aku, Kam, Ubai and wife, Cikgu Sabri chap ayam and last minute Ultraman Ray and kawan dia Marina join us. All of them is 1st timer for this walking event. So mlm tu makan amat mewah, mcm2 ada. Seriusly aku xrasa comfertable dgn keadaan aku. Rasa ngantuk sgt + letih. So i am aspecting something bad will happen.

So we did start at 8pm sharp. Aku berjalan dgn suzie all the way sampai 18KM. We did 6KM/hours which 10 minit/KM. Ni mmg plan aku sampai la habis game ni. So klu aku consistent aku leh clock at least 60KM in 10hours. Secara kasar confident level aku amat tinggi. Mind set mcm biasa melangkau segala yg aku ada but badan agak keletihan. So at 1st hour aku dah rasa xsedap kat ankle.

Muka2 belum insaf..
The feeling sama mcm aku kne kat Craze Ultra after 60KM. Mula rasa mencucuk dan sakit dari tgh ankle bawak ke tulang kering bawak ke bawah lutut. Aku stop at 1st hour tuk sarung calf guard. Rasa sakit hilang at 2nd hour but come back at 3rd hour. Masa ni aku dah mula xsedap hati sbb aku yakin it will become more worst in next hours.

So lps 3rd hours aku stop tuk refuel. Suzie ikut aku je masa ni dan semangat dia masih tinggi. Untuk Farah, dia stop at 17 KM and rehat sblum sambung. Lps refuel, sakit terus mencucuk and become worst. Aku xleh nak bengkok ankle pon. Berjalan mcm robot but aku nak teruskan jugak. Masa bergerak dgn Suzie after refuel, she ask me to stop. There is a lot of big event coming soon and dia xnak aku injured and xdpt lari sama2 dgn dia. Masa ni rasa feeling pulak bila bini kasi tazkirah and best word dia kasi, "Today is not my day". slalu aku yg kasi ayat ni kat dia. Kli ni aku kne mengalah sbb aku yakin aku kne jaga kaki aku. There is always another event so aku kne fokus. Niat pon LSD so i need to listen to my body.

So aku decide tuk habiskan 35KM je. So dari 6KM/hours aku reduce ke 4km/hours. So aku just berjalan mcm biasa and enjoy the pain. Masa aku benti ramai yg tanya and mcm biasa aku cuma manusia biasa. Ada kala aku kne terima hakikat to stop. Masa ni Suzie dah stop which dia buat 31KM je and adik aku manage to do 23KM. For Zinov 50KM and Kam 55KM. This is the highest mileage so far for Suzi and Farah and aku bangga dgn dpa.

Anyway, few things aku learn.
1. Now aku in tight schedule of diet. Aku amek less karbo and sugar for past 2 weeks and the result is aku lembik on the real game. So moral dia, at least a week sblum event xleh escape carbs and sugar.
2. Backtoback is not advise for long hours activities. Noktah
3. Listen to your body not your heart.
4. There is alway another day, so stop when u need to. It not easy but u need to firm with your decision and stay positive.
5. Jgn skip training. It seriusly will kill you.
Sorang 31KM.. Sorang 23KM.. they're ready for more..

Lagi2 muka ni..
There is few things jugak yg aku tgk xberapa sedap masa game ni.
1. Makanan yg dihidangkan xcukup + ada menu yg xsesuai. Ada ka potong timun and salad and letak dalam dulang mcm tu je. Ni bukan makan kat hotel, aku rasa they all need to have proper menu or else xpyh bagi makan langsung. Same like other ultra event, pandai2 la cari makan sendiri. Kmi dah agak issue ni sbb participant edisi kli ni dkt 2000 org so klu dpa xproper sure masalah punya so kmi bawak makanan kmi sendiri.
2. Beratur punya panjang, kesian aku tgk pada yg 1st timer, dah le kejar masa dan mileage then kne beratur plak nak makan n amek air.
3. Tahun ni organizer mmg tegas dari sblum2 ni. Mungkin sbb loop dia boleh nampak smua org kot. Ada kes bip kne tarik and DQ on the spot either berlari or pakai bip org len. Muka2 dpa pon ganas giler.
4. Buang sampah tolak 1 loop, lari tolak 1 loop. 3 kali kne card kuning terus DQ. Mmg ganas.

Pada keseluruhan, aku masih ok dgn event ni. Xpuas hati? Mmg le but aku ini adalah rencah dalam running. Sometimes it not your day.

Good thinking, always listen to your body. Banyak game lagi mau layan next year.
