Race Report - Putrajaya Night Marathon 2011

Hadir: Arman, En Zul dan Faizal (Malaysian Hikerz)

Seriusly aku xready untuk event ni. Lecet dan sakit2 pada kaki xbetul2 recover lagi lepas dari Penang Walk last week. I did some slow run on wednesday and friday night. Manage to clock 8km which 4km in each session. Tapi feeling larian xseperti normal. Seriuosly in pain. Aku percaya yang recovery rate aku agak perlahan. Samaada kurang ilmu, salah teknik dan tektik or badan aku ni mmg dah tua. Aku xtau kat mana yg jadi silapnya.


Aku just tawakal ja, pada mulanya aku mmg nak tarik diri dari larian ni. Tapi aku change plan. Just want to do just simple walk all the way. Petang tu plak hujan, nak jadi citer masa larian keadaan amat panas. Selain dari track yg kelihatan panjang sebab berlari all the way highway. Serius aku jadi mental.

At a start, i was in pain for 1st 3km. Seriusly in pain. Keting mcm nak pecah. Warm up sudah, stretching sudah tapi aku rasa masih xcukup. Tapi aku manage to catch up after 3km. Masuk highway hilang segala perit. Aku in mood. Aku maintain in pace 7-8 minute. Xda byk masalah. Aku pace stu untie ni all the way.


At 17km mark, aku manage to clock 1h55m (dari runkeeper aku). Entah mana silap, "will power" aku hilang lepas 17km marking. Serius aku in deep shit. Aku rasa mcm otak aku terus shut down. Kaki terus jadi berat, bahu berat, tangan xdpt nak hayun lagi. Damn, aku off mp3 player, aku tarik napas dan berjalan. Dalam kepala bercelaru mcm2. Aku pon xpasti tang mana yg jadi masalah pada aku masa tu. Kaki yg melecet kat marking ni baru la dia kuar sakit dia dan sakit pada keting pon baru la masa ni dia kuar balik. Aku kantoi mental game kali ni. Padan muka.

Cilakak, aku duk berjalan sampai last 500meter nak ke finishing line. Aku betul confident to clock below 2j30m tuk event ni sbb la ni jarak terjauh dalam latihan aku is 30KM without any problem. Tapi kantoi akhirnya. Aku clock 3j8m. Far from my PB.

Jadi antara yg aku belajar

- Jgn main byk sgt event dalam sebulan. Padan muka aku. Thanks Yim for your kind advise.
- Recover plan yg perlu lebih baik.
- I did run as advise by ray dan it work (lari kosong + extra vaselin) . Thanks Ray.
- Hydration plan, minum setiap KM.



Anyway, aku la ni kne concentrate dgn jadual FM aku. Dgn apa yg berlaku tuk event ni, hope xberlaku masa FM nanti. Insyallah. I beliave this is a good lesson for me.

good job finishing the race Arman, i always learn something new in every race.

Night races are always tough, but you will get better :)
